The Beginning…

It all began with a mutual need for ‘space’, both physically & mentally. You know, the feeling of wanting to be able to step outside your own door, buck naked and not shock the neighbours or send someone into cardiac arrest?? Our apartment was surrounded by ‘the neighbourhood watch’ fraternity, who mainly watched us & our growing hoard of pets, we had acquired three dogs, one cat & a rabbit so in the apartment things had got a bit tight on space, things HAD to change…

So we went hunting in our favourite weekend haunt for a rental property, but found nothing suitable for our ‘family’. On the way out of the estate agents I noticed a 2 acre property for sale. THATS how 2 women on 2 acres all began…

On the 24th November 2005 we moved into our piece of paradise…

We didn’t realise at the time, just how unique our property was. This is NO ordinary life style block. We are in the middle of no where, it takes 30 minutes to drive to the nearest shop!! On a private gravel road, which has three other properties. We can see one in the distance, the others, are far enough away to be safe in times of trouble. The rest is gently rolling farm land with picturesque hills inhabited by sheep, wild turkeys, birds & ducks.

We have two paddocks which have been fallow for 14 years or more, with a variety of farm buildings: A sheep shearing shed, pig pens, 2 small chicken coups. The house, we have learnt is two shops joined together, making spacious rooms; 2 bedrooms, long living room, kitchen, bathroom & laundry. Inside and out is in need of some tender loving care and re-arranging. So we have a COMPLETE blank canvas for both the house and paddocks. OMG!! the possibilities are endless…
