Spoilt Rotten!!
I was ORDERED to rest, and seeing as I couldn’t seem to achieve this at home, I was sent off to a place were this WOULD be achieved…
A RETREAT…
I admit, when I first got the brochure, I was flabbergasted, to learn, I was not permitted to get out of bed until 9.30 am and REST & RELAXATION was THE order of the day, none, negotiable!!
OMG!! how was I going to cope, I am usually up with the lark and just the thought of spending THAT amount of time confined to barracks, was a tad concerning!!
Well, I have to report, I should not have worried, as I have just spent 11 days being spoilt rotten. I had a beautiful room with a great view of the ocean. AND, I was treated to THE best home cooked meals, cakes and preserves, no less, than, SIX times a day, I really was in heaven!!
This was no ordinary retreat, it had been set up, so women like myself can have time out in a relaxed atmosphere , to think, plan and rejuvenate.
It is run by a FANTASTIC group of women, who tended to my needs, they were not pushy in your face types, and all were great cooks, hostesses and kind. The food was all home made, so were the cakes, biscuits, scones, jams, chutneys, preserves. Vegetables and herbs came from the garden as able.
I met a great group of guests, whom, I now consider friends. We all watched DVD’s, made bead jewelry, talked, swam and walked.
I think, my memories would be being able to be me, not having any demands made on me, being able to laugh and giggle at all times, then there is the food, THAT I will never forget.
Thank you, to all who looked after me SO well, you know who you are, you special people.
